What I Hoped for, What I’m Doing Anyway

No DMs yet… but here’s what I’m sketching next

Okay, confession time:
I launched my Quick Paw Portraits this week... and so far, not a single order.
(Well, there was one, but it was a friend of Mum’s. Does that count? )

At first, I felt a bit silly. A bit invisible. Like maybe no one wanted what I made.
But then I remembered why I started offering these sketches in the first place:

Because every time I draw someone’s beloved floof, it becomes more than a portrait.
It becomes memory. It becomes story. It becomes love.

And also, I’ve had a little realisation:
I have also come to the understanding that this is just the start, and the momentum has to build. It is like opening a shop on a quiet high street, without promotion, and hoping someone will walk by and well….buy. But the chances are far slimmer than if you spent the week before shouting from the roof tops about what you where doing. So I gave my venerable creative self a pep talk and ... I’m back here, waving gently from the pavement, saying:

“I really love this project. I believe in it.
It’s called the Quick Paw Portrait Club, and I’ve got 3 sketch slots open this week.

If you’ve ever wanted your pet sketched, or you know someone who might love one…
now’s the time. I’d be honoured to draw your fur-baby 💌”
